postpartum
Services
Postpartum doulas assist you in the first few weeks or months after you’ve had your baby and provide families with information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills for new parents. They might also help with light housework, fix a meal and help incorporate an older child into this new experience.
As a postpartum doula I only work nights.
What kind of support does a postpartum doula provide?
- Helping with feeding baby (nursing and/or bottle feeding)
- Validating the experiences of early parenting and providing emotional support
- Helping new parents learn what is normal regarding baby care, feeding, postpartum healing, sleep, etc.
- Helping parents get some sleep by reducing chaos and creating a calmer environment
- Teaching soothing tips to help comfort baby
- Providing non-judgmental postpartum support and a listening ear
- Encouraging parents in their new role
- Navigating change when a partner goes back to work
- Identifying needs for further support or referrals
